How To Write A Business Plan 2022

A business plan sets out your intentions and aims for a company, to establish a strategic vision. Your business plan should be easy to read and understand to any reader.
The purpose of a Business Plan is threefold:
1. To write a compelling story about your future success:
a. Who are you?
b. Why do you exist? What is your mission?
c. Why should anyone care about what you have to say or write?
d. Why would people need the services and products that your company offers and why they will not get it cheaper elsewhere (or who can get it more cheaply and better)?
e. How will you succeed?
f. What is your vision of success?
g. What won’t you try to do, so as not to risk the things that matter most?
h. How are others likely to react when you do what you want to do (i.e., competitors)?
i. Is your time frame realistic?
j. What do you want from your company and how will you get it?
k. How did you decide to write a business plan? Who did you decide to write a business plan for? Why write a business plan now, not yesterday or tomorrow?
2. To write objectives that are actionable by you or others throughout the Company
Create an environment for success:
a. What are you trying to achieve?
b. Is your financial plan realistic?
c. What are the costs of being wrong—or being too conservative? Would it be better to estimate what might be achieved if all goes well, rather than starting with what might be lost if all doesn’t go well?
3. To write value propositions that differentiate the Company from its competitors in order to capture sufficient market share and mind share to succeed:
a. What makes you and your ideas special?
b. What do you like best, and what should customers like about you?
c. Who is your target market or audience? Why will they patronize you rather than write a business plan for another company offering the same goods and services as yours (under a different brand name or in a different business model)?
d. How will write a business plan create value for customers?
e. What do you want from your company and how will you get it?
