How does entrepreneurship work?
The initial step to entrepreneurship is called entrepreneurship. This involves taking an idea for a new product, service or process that has value within the marketplace then finding opportunities to bring this idea into fruition. These opportunities are often found through research or by adapting existing products, services or processes. The success of the entrepreneur’s opportunity seekers depends largely on their ability to quickly evaluate risks vs rewards associated with their ideas and carry them out effectively in order to establish successful businesses in highly competitive markets (Timmons, Dierking).

Entrepreneurship’s ability to create new jobs is a main reason entrepreneurship is important. In the United States alone, entrepreneurship has been responsible for generating over 10 million jobs each year since the early 2000s (Kauffman Foundation, 2013) . This statistic shows entrepreneurship’s direct influence on job growth in the U.S. – specifically due to entrepreneurship directly creating almost 5% of all non-farm private sector employment annually which totals to about 8.5 million people. Furthermore, entrepreneurship indirectly accounts for another 3 to 4 million private sector jobs annually which makes entrepreneurship responsible for up to 11 or 12 million individual job opportunities each year! It is comparable to one out of every seven jobs created within the private sector (Kauffman Foundation, 2013).
Despite entrepreneurship’s positive influence on job growth, entrepreneurship still faces challenges in being recognized as a true avenue of entrepreneurship. Starting small businesses is risky. Although entrepreneurship has the potential to create many jobs, many new businesses will fail within the first five years.

Do you have what it takes to start and entrepreneurship?
Those looking for entrepreneurship opportunities have to be confident in their abilities to recognize opportunities, take risks and persist until they are rewarded with the fruits of entrepreneurship . More importantly, entrepreneurship requires an individual to be creative with their ideas while also being able to mobilize resources around these ideas.
Starting a business requires little more than passion, an idea and an internet connection which has allowed entrepreneurship to become more prevalent throughout the world. However, entrepreneurship may not be for everyone despite entrepreneurship’s importance .
There are many successful entrepreneurs in the world but there are also many unsuccessful ones (Timmons & Spinelli).
